Alicia Gauger, one of my high school art teachers, passed away on October 2 from cancer. It's hard to believe it's already been over 4 years since I was last in her classroom. She knew how to guide her students to create unique and personal artwork in the way only a skilled teacher can. She was a talented artist, an inspiring teacher, and a big help to myself and many others. I'm thankful to have known her and I wont forget her. So uh... It's an interesting time, ain't it.
When I posted my last journal right at the end of February, I was just in time for everything here in the US to start crashing down. As someone with a diagnosed anxiety problem, I feel like I've been subconsciously expecting it for quite a while. In a weird way, that was strangely vindicating at first. But then I realized that having anxiety can be a lot easier when I can honestly tell myself that the world isn't actually as bad as my overabundance of cortisol would have me believe.
